Cartooning for Peace and Ukraine tears of war

On the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the war in Ukraine, Cartooning For Peace publishes in partnership with Amnesty International and France Médias Monde, the book “Leave us alone! “. Prefaced by Pierre Haski, it brings together 120 international press cartoons and discusses the issues and consequences of this conflict.

A year ago, on January 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine and once again brought the war to European soil. A look back today in VMDN on these last 12 months of conflict and on its consequences with some of the sharpest editorialists in the world, commentators capable in a few pencil strokes of arousing revolt, compassion and even sometimes laughter, often pressing where it hurts.

The International Association “ Cartooning for Peace », which brings together some 281 cartoonists and who wears high the flag of freedom of the press, is preparing to publish – in association with Amnesty International and France Médias Monde – a collection prefaced by the journalist Pierre Haski.

It brings together 120 press cartoons that offer us sometimes offbeat, often sharp, never indifferent looks at the war in Ukraine. The title sounds like an imperious exhortation: Leave us alone! », it is published by Gallimard editions.
