Carolina won without Sebastian Aho, Jesperi Kotkaniemi’s third goal of the season – Sidney Crosby surpassed Jari Kurr’s record

Eight games were played in the night’s NHL round. The teams of Finnish goalkeepers suffered losses.

Carolina Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored his third goal of the season as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the New York Islanders 3–0. Kotkaniemi, who scored his team’s second goal, was guided by a defender by Brent Burns past the bet by the Islanders keeper Ilya Sorokin in the third period.

Suffering from a lower body injury Sebastian Aho was not in the team composition. Also Swedish Jesper Fast was absent due to injury.

A rookie goalkeeper in Carolina’s goal Pyotr Kotsetkov23, stopped all 16 shots and became the third rookie goaltender in club history to keep multiple shutouts in a season.

After a five-game losing streak in November, the Hurricanes have won five of the six games they have played and are second in the Metropolitan division, seven points behind New Jersey.

Crosby passed Kurr

The Dallas Stars defeated the Detroit Red Wings in overtime Nils Lundkvist by hitting 3–2. Dallas Miro Heiskanen got an assist By Jamie Benn 2–1 for a power play.

Crosby is sixth in the NHL points market with 17+21=38 (+6).

In Buffalo’s goal Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, 23, made 28 saves in his seventh game of the season. The victory was Pittsburgh’s fifth in a row. The team is third in the Metropolitan division.

William Nylander scored two goals and had three assists as Toronto defeated Calgary 5–4 in overtime. The win was Toronto’s third in a row.

The Florida Panthers lost to their neighbor Tampa Bay with a score of 1-4. The third set was tied, but Tampa forged three goals in the last set. The Panthers’ Finns were left without power points in the match.
