Former leader of the central bank Mark Carney has sworn his prime minister’s oath in Canada.
59-year-old Carney follows in the task Justin Trudeauta. Both represent the dominant Liberal Party, which was appointed by Carney on Sunday. Trudeau, who had led Canada for ten years, announced his resignation in January.
Canada is about to trade with the United States due to duties ordered by Donald Trump. Trump has also annoyed Canadians by talking about the country’s connection to the United States.
Carney is expected to proclaim new elections in Canada in the near future. Trump’s sudden policy has strengthened the status of the liberal party.
