The result list of the Austrian F1 race that was run on Sunday changed to a new faith the night before Monday, Finnish time.

The top three Max Verstappen–Charles Leclerc–Sergio Perez the rankings remained unchanged, but there were a lot of changes at the back, as the FIA ​​imposed additional time penalties on eight drivers.

The background of the fines is a protest that went through Aston Martin regarding several violations of track limits during the race weekend.

Ferrari’s fourth place driver suffered the worst blow Carlos Sainzwho dropped to sixth due to a time penalty.

Mercedes Lewis Hamilton dropped from seventh place to eighth. A team mate got up past him George Russell.

Alfa Romeo Zhou Guanyu rose two places to 12th and Valtteri Bottas one place to 15th.

Track boundaries are marked on the track surface with a white line. If the driver crosses the limit with all four tires, he is considered to have committed a lane violation. The track boundaries aim to prevent corrections and the use of areas outside the track.

During the actual competition, 1,200 rule violations were reported to the jury. Aston Martin justifies its protest by the fact that not all drivers were punished for the fault in question.

The jury gave the drivers a five-second time penalty for four violations of the track limits and a ten-second penalty for five violations. Due to numerous violations, some of the drivers received several time fines. For example Esteban Ocon netted two ten and two five second penalties.

In its decision, the jury emphasized that it very strongly hopes that a solution to the track boundaries of the Spielberg track will be found.
