The Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, world number one, and the Serbian Novak Djokovic, number 3, in search of a 23rd Grand Slam title at Roland-Garros, are placed in the same half of the table and will not be able to face each other before the semi-finals, according to the draw made on Thursday 25 May. The other semi-final could oppose the Russian Daniil Medvedev (number 2) and the finalist of last year, the Norwegian Casper Ruud (number 4). Defending champion and 14-time winner Rafael Nadal withdrew before the start of the tournament, insufficiently recovered from a hip muscle injury suffered in the second round of the Australian Open in January.
