Carla wins Whole Sweden bakes – the detail decided

The final section consisted of the classic technical back and the parade back. But in the final episode, the jury chose to switch places on the back, against how it was done in previous programs.

The three finalists Carla, Ida and Mala hate thus had to start with the technical and then finish the entire competition with a parade back.

In the technical back, tartlets were on the schedule. The jury expected twelve tasty tartlets, made without a recipe.

In the parade bake, the home bakers would deliver 18 pieces of perfect Vasabakelser. The criteria were that the pastries should contain gooseberries and blueberries, have a white chocolate decoration and a glossy miro glaze.

Which proved to be a difficult challenge. The participants had five hours before they had to present their baked goods. It was after this back that the whole competition was really decided.

– If we had high expectations before, we have even higher today, said the pastry chef Elisabeth Johansson in the program.

– Yes, everything must fit, filled the master baker Johan Söderberg in.

The tension was, to say the least, unbearable until the end.

When the time was up, Malahat, who had been short of time during the competition, broke down.

– No, no no, you heard her say when the time was up.

Carla got all 18 of her Vasabakels together and the jury thought they were both beautiful to look at and tasted good.

They also justified her win with the fact that she maintained a consistently high level throughout the competition.

Although the jury felt that the white chocolate was not quite perfectly tempered, both Elisabeth and Johan thought that the pastries were incredibly beautiful and tasted good. So it was the overall impression that became the decisive detail in the back.

– The gooseberries are tart just as they should be and then you have a yogurt mousse that contributes a little sweetness as well. The glazing looks thin and nice, you should be very pleased, Johan said to Carla.
