Carl Bildt about Trump’s play: “A Wild in the White House”

The fact that Ukraine started the war and that Zelenskyj is a dictator is two of US President Donald Trump’s play over the past 24 hours.

– We must realize that we have a wild in the White House, he can say anything, says Bildt.

Carl Bildt believes that Trump’s statements both create uncertainty about what is happening in American politics, but also international counter -reactions against the United States that he believes should not be in the country’s interests.

– What he says is wrong, it is distorted and it is dangerous, says Carl Bildt.

Trump’s play comes from Putin

The plays have been likened to Russian propaganda and came shortly after the first meeting between Russia and the United States in Saudi Arabia. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Russian buddies have long blamed Ukraine for being the driving force in the war and claimed that the administration in Kiev is Nazis.

– Putin couldn’t have said it better. I think they rejoice in the Kremlin over this, says Bildt.

Bildt believes that it is unlikely that the plays are based on information from the US security service, he instead believes that it is Russian propaganda directly from the Kremlin.

“My thesis is that that” Putin said to him, says Bildt.

Europe’s leaders gather

During the first three days of the week, two crisis meetings about the prevailing situation in Ukraine and the threat from Russia took place with European leaders on France’s President Emmanuel Macron’s request.

During a press conference after the meeting, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson says that Trump’s statements are incorrect, but that one should have ice in the stomach. Similar reactions have come from several other European leaders.

“These are strong words from European leaders when saying that US President Faiths with untrue,” says Carl Bildt and continues.

– We are in a period that is revolving for the transatlantic relationship and then what Ulf Kristersson said, a little ice in the stomach.
