Carina Berg reveals the secret behind her cheeks

Carina Berg recently turned 46. The big breakthrough in the box came around 2005, and since then she has become one of Sweden’s most popular presenters. She has led Idol, a whole bunch of different programs with the former pair horse Christine Meltzer and did various renovation programs with the husband Erik Berg. This spring, she is current as host for Melodifestivalen 2024. A truly prestigious assignment.

“I’m so so so so so HAPPY about this. I can’t wait to walk you through this and have fun with you,” she wrote Instagram.

In addition to being a presenter, Carina has a lot of other things going on. She can be heard in the podcast Gynning & Berg – Finding themselves with whom she is together Carolina Gynningand in 2022 Carina Berg went and invested in the skincare brand Skinome.

With so many years in the spotlight and on television, Carina has at least picked up a thing or two about both skin care and makeup. But from having several complicated steps in her skin care routine, she has now scaled back considerably, and uses significantly fewer products.

Carina Berg about her face – she does it to get a glow

It is not only good products that are the secret behind Carina Berg’s incredible “glow”. When Carina visited Hermansson’s cake podcast Under the skin, which deals with skin care in particular, Carina told me that she used to have very severe acne.

– I’ve had two rounds of quite serious, heavy acne. The second time was when I started television. Blisters on the cheeks and completely dotted on the forehead, she says in the podcast.

Carina Berg took prescription medication for her acne, and says that when it was at its worst, it “boiled and sizzled”. As a result of the acne, Carina got some smaller scars.

– I have Dermapennat and sanded it away. The scars weren’t that big, Carina told me then.

Dermapen is a treatment where extremely thin needles create microscopically small holes in the skin. This causes the skin’s collagen to start working, and in this way it is possible to conjure up both scars, wrinkles and other irregularities.

The really big “game changer” for Carina Berg is a skin therapist called Lena Claesson. She owns and runs the S-clinic at Östermalm in Stockholm. They specialize in medical skin care, body care and injection treatments. The clinic does not work with a fixed price list, something they themselves write on their website.

This then tailors treatment programs to each customer. A price proposal can only be obtained during a consultation.

– She is my best beauty tip. She can do everything, Carina told in an interview with The Express.

Carina started going to Lena’s salon after a colleague came into the office looking like “three thousand billion dollars in the face”, something Carina reveals in Under the skin.

Carina then asked the colleague what the secret was – and the colleague replied that she had been to Lena’s.

– She uses Dermapen and everything possible really. It was the “pen” that got everything in order. I got there and had paper thin skin. I’ve had a LOT of facials in my day. I love it. It has been everything from strange devices that are supposed to push down the moisture in the skin so that you get a metallic taste in your mouth, says Carina in Under the skin.

Each treatment at the clinic looks different for Carina. Carina says that she goes to Dermapen at least three times a year, but every now and then she gets treatments such as the IPL laser treatment or Microdermabrasion.

– Sometimes there are other corrosive things. Acids and stuff like that, she said in the podcast.

Can Carina Berg imagine having an operation on her face?

In Under the Skin, Carina Berg tells us that by looking at your parents you can see how you will age.

Carina tells us that her mother has very heavy eyelids, and if Carina were to get them too, it is something she can imagine correcting with the help of surgery.

It’s one of the procedures Carina told me she could imagine doing – that is, an eyelid lift.

– If the skin falls over the eyelashes, I will probably want to do it, said Carina Berg i Under the skin.

But it’s not just the face that Carina Berg takes care of. Even the body gets a little attention from time to time. In an interview with Damernas Värld, Carina said that she likes to do massages and LPG.

LPG is a mechanical connective tissue massage that is meant to remove cellulite and fat deposits. The method was invented in 1986 by the French Louis Paul Guitay – hence the name LPG.

In recent years, several Swedish influencers and celebrities have told us that they do LPG, and profiles such as Bianca Ingrosso, Johanna Lind Bagge and Elsa Billgren are loyal fans of the treatment.

The American newspaper Byrdie have taken a closer look at LPG and tried to find out if it really works or is money down the drain. The doctor Paul Jarrod Frank then explained that the decades-old technology can help to get rid of some excess fluid – but that it does not tighten the skin or treat cellulite in the long run.

– I like LPG. I don’t know the effect of that, but it’s incredibly nice. I have large sinuses, I think, with my apple cheeks, so LPG on the face makes you completely glowing and lifted, Carina Berg told The ladies World.
