Carin Jämtin may leave her job as Site manager

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The Swedish aid agency Sida’s director general Carin Jämtin does not receive an extension of confidence from the government and leaves in May.

– We believe that aid policy in this situation is best served by a fresh start, says Aid and Foreign Trade Minister Johan Forssell (M) to TT.

Carin Jämtin was party secretary for the Social Democrats 2011–2016. Between 2003 and 2006, she was minister for aid in the then prime minister Göran Persson’s government. Jämtin left her political assignments and her seat in the Riksdag in connection with her appointment as Director General of Sida in May 2017.

– It has been a long time that she has led the authority, in a good way. But when we now enter a new phase in aid policy, we see it as natural that there will also be a new leadership at Sida, says Aid and Foreign Trade Minister Johan Forssell to TT.

The position will be advertised shortly, according to Forssell.
