Card Version of Exodus Game is Coming

It has been announced that the highly anticipated science fiction game Exodus will also come with a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) or card game version.

It has been announced that the highly anticipated science fiction game Exodus will also come with a desktop role-playing game (TTRPG) version. Introduced for the first time at The Game Awards event of 2023, Exodus offers a special opportunity to its early supporters, although it has not yet released an official gameplay video.

Exodus Card Version Will Only Be Available in Limited Numbers

According to Exodus’ official website, the card version of the game is available as a special, limited-time offer for those who participate in the Founders program. If you become a Founder by providing your email address by December 10, 2024 at 21:59, you will receive a special link and code to purchase the main rulebook called Exodus Traveler’s Handbook.

This announcement was made to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Exodus’ initial announcement and to give a special thank you to the community. However, details about TTRPG such as the game system, long-term support or special dice have not yet been shared.

The video game Exodus itself is surrounded by similar mystery. There is no gameplay footage other than pre-render trailers, and it is unclear what the basic mechanics will be. All that is known is that it will be about the cost of time dilation in interstellar travel. This concept was deliberately chosen, because the announcement of the game at the 2023 The Game Awards was made by Matthew McConaughey, the star of the Interstellar movie.

Don’t think Exodus and its TTRPG version are a scam, though. The game is being developed by Archetype Entertainment, founded by former Bioware developers, which includes the creative team behind the original Baldur’s Gate and the Mass Effect trilogy.

Additionally, Archetype is a subsidiary of Wizards of the Coast, the giant firm behind Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. Considering that Bioware’s early works were based on older versions of D&D, it seems likely that the Exodus TTRPG will be built on similar foundations.
