The people were on their way from Poland to Bern in Switzerland and were stopped at the border between Germany’s Weil am Rhein and Switzerland’s Basel – by stunned customs officials.
After being detained at the border, the people were later allowed into Switzerland, although “not all in the same Seat Alhambra”, according to a statement from German police.
The driver of the vehicle now risks a fine for the well-filled car.
