– We have evaluated, and seen that the weekends received mostly positive reactions. We want to work to make the most of this, says Lars Strömgren (MP) to the newspaper.
According to Lars, there are two reasons:
– It has at least two purposes – firstly to deal with perceived disruptions to motor traffic, and secondly to make the area accessible and active.

– There are raggers, speed freaks and motorbike riders. The only thing they understand is closed street. Then we can relax, then we can live and live, says Elisabeth Erholt, who lives on the street.
She has lived on Sveavägen for over 30 years, has long been committed to reducing traffic and would like to see a longer section closed than the current one.
– There are families with children, the elderly and very many dog owners who live on Sveavägen – over 3,000 people. Often it’s just the autobahn here, which feels completely wrong, says Peter, who lives in the area.

Built before cars
Sveavägen was a residential area long before the traffic situation looked like it does today.
Having said that, there have been fewer and fewer complaints in recent years, says Norrmalm municipal police Måns Gauffin.
