On the night of Thursday, a car exploded in central Hässleholm, in Skåne.
– We had many callers who heard bangs and saw the fire, probably because the place is centrally located, says Leif Staffansson, officer on duty at the emergency services.
The car was parked next to several cars in a parking lot behind a church. Three cars caught fire, and according to the rescue service, it seems that the fire from the car that exploded spread to the cars that were parked next to it.
– All three cars are completely destroyed. You won’t be able to drive these cars again, says duty officer at the rescue service, Leif Staffansson.
– We stay for a while to ensure that the fire in the cars is completely extinguished, says Leif Staffansson.
The emergency services arrived at the scene and began extinguishing the fire. Shortly after 02.00 the extinguishing work was finished.
The emergency services have not received information about any personal injuries.
