Government investigator: The police will be allowed to intercept children

Government investigator Gunnel Lindberg hands over a series of proposals to Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M), in order to more effectively address crimes committed by young people.

Lindberg proposes at a press conference, among other things, that the police should intercept people under the age of 15, who are suspected of certain crimes.

    – It is obvious that our model did not work, says Gunnar Strömmer at the press conference.

Interception of children must be used in case of suspicion of crimes such as murder, serious weapons crimes and terrorist crimes.

    – We know that these secret means of coercion are often absolutely crucial to being able to investigate and prosecute serious crimes committed within the framework of criminal networks, says Gunnar Strömmer.

Other covert means of coercion suggested are covert camera surveillance and data reading.

In addition, the investigator suggests that the police should be allowed to intercept criminal environments where children are present, even before a crime has taken place. Young people under the age of 18 will also be able to be detained for longer according to the proposal, from the current three to five months.

The Tate brothers are sentenced to million fines

British police can seize over two million British pounds, equivalent to over 27 million Swedish kronor, in unpaid taxes from the influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, according to a court decision.

It is the British police who have taken the case to court to get access to money from the Tate family and a woman. The money has been in seven frozen bank accounts.

According to the police’s lawyer, the Tate brothers were notorious tax evaders and failed to pay tax on £21m of income from their internet-based companies between 2014 and 2022.

According to Judge Paul Goldspring, the transactions the brothers engaged in were simply tax evasion.

He and his brother are suspected in Romania of, among other things, human trafficking and money laundering. They are also suspected of other crimes in Great Britain.
