  • Stop on the Malmbanan – again

    A derailment on Malmbanan has led to a standstill in traffic, local media reports.

    – It was an ore train and the derailment happened during a switching movement, says Pär Aronsson, press spokesperson at the Swedish Transport Administration to NSD.

    During the winter and spring, the mining line suffered from several derailments that caused traffic to stop completely. The company LKAB has suffered a loss of billions due to long-term stops on the way to the port in Narvik, Norway.

    There is no forecast for when traffic can be up and running again this time.

  • Final report on the elevator accident in Sundbyberg

    The National Accident Commission (SHK) has today published the final report on the investigation into the accident with a construction lift at a construction site in Sundbybergs.

    The accident commission now states that the control system did not pick up flaws in the assembly.

    “The control measures that would catch assembly errors were not applied and therefore the missing screw connections were not detected. Current requirements for inspections of construction lifts are not sufficient,” SHK writes in a press release.

    During the accident, the load on the mast became greater than what the construction could handle without the screw connections. Therefore, the mast sections loosened and the elevator fell to the ground from level nine.

  • Serious flaws surrounding Botkyrka’s New York trip

    Sveriges Radio revealed that money intended to combat gang crime went to a New York trip.

    Now Botkyrka municipality writes that a number of serious errors have been committed in connection with the trip. Among other things, there has been a breach of the Municipal Act, the Delegation Act and, in addition, there has been a breach in the procurement of the trip, the municipality states in a press release.

  • Three arrested for gross violation of international law

    Hi Niklas! If we were to write about all the power outages in the whole country, there would be a lot, especially when it is usually very local. We are a nationwide newspaper as you mention, but that also means that we cannot write about everything in every locality.

    In the next news regarding murder and rape or for that matter if it is gang-related, you write out the name and post a picture of the perpetrators. what makes the difference? it’s still the case that there are people who are sentenced to rather long sentences, I don’t see the difference, criminal as criminal!
