A heavy snowfall over the Stockholm area creates problems in traffic.

On Friday morning, a car drove into the middle barrier on the E20.

One lane is closed.

A single vehicle accident occurred on the E20 between Eskilstuna and Strängnäs shortly before 06:00 on Friday morning.

– The passenger car drove into the center barrier and spun half a turn. There are no injuries, says Daniel Kaissidis, officer on duty at Södertörn’s fire brigade.

SMHI warns: The snowfall may affect traffic

Since Thursday, SMHI warns of heavy snowfall over the Stockholm area and parts of Uppsala and Sörmland counties.

Daniel Kaissidis at Södertörn’s fire service suspects that Friday’s single-person accident on E20 may be linked to the snowfall.

– Considering how the weather looks, a qualified guess is that it has to do with slipping, he says.

– The weather can create traffic problems during the day.

Trafikverket: “Difficult to stay on the road”

The weather can also lead to canceled buses, trains and flights.

– There will probably be one or two who will be surprised tomorrow and who will have difficulty staying on the road, said Bengt Olsson at the Swedish Transport Administration on Thursday.
