The Netflix charts give late fame to many series that have fallen short. Same today: The Good Doctor climbs up the leaderboard with six seasons. Recently, fans of the popular production had to contend with two major disappointments.
Ranked 4th on Netflix: The Good Doctor should continue with a spin-off
The Good Doctor revolves around the autistic surgeon Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore). The exceptional doctor goes along great professional genius, but also some interpersonal difficulties in his job at a prestigious hospital.

When it launched in 2017, the series turned out to be a hit for the US broadcaster ABC, which also produces Grey’s Anatomy, among other things. Over the years, despite many fans, the quota weakened more and more and finally prompted the company to do so at the beginning of 2024 canceled after seven seasons.
As if the end of the series wasn’t disappointing enough, fans also had to contend with the From a planned spin-off to fight: The Good Lawyer was supposed to revolve around the life of a lawyer and was launched with a so-called backdoor pilot in the main series. But the spin-off also failed in the end due to the ratings of the main production, it seems.
The Good Doctor’s grand finale is not on Netflix
Anyone who is happy that the entire series has found a new home at least on Netflix is wrong: the 7th and final season of the series is currently underway only available on Sky Go and WOW. In addition to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and RTL+ also offer six seasons. Anyone who misses Freddie Highmore will soon see him again in the thriller series The Assassin, which is produced by Amazon and ZDF.
