Capcom has announced numerous improvements that players can expect from Monster Hunter Wilds compared to the open beta. Fans of a particular weapon are particularly looking forward to it.
What weapon is this about? The Insect Glaive is a weapon in Monster Hunter Wilds that was also included in its predecessor, Monster Hunter: World. It is characterized by the fact that it allows high mobility and comes with a Kinsect that gives you buffs.
However, compared to the insect glaives of previous installments, the one in Monster Hunter Wilds felt relatively weak to many players. This was due, among other things, to the radically shortened “hitstop” of all weapons. But the weapon wasn’t able to convince all fans when it came to its moveset either.
In a nearly 90-minute community update, game director Yuya Tokuda announced a variety of improvements, including for individual weapons like the Insect Glaive:
If you’re only interested in the insect glaive, it becomes a topic of conversation starting at minute 32:24. At this point we will briefly summarize what you need to know.

The players are very happy, but one drawback remains
How is this update received by players? The improvements to the insect glaive are being greeted with joy on Reddit. In a post on r/MonsterHunter that now has 2,300 likes, fans of the weapon are happy that the developers listened to their feedback.
“It’s like losing a friend and then seeing them come back to life before your eyes,” writes Reddit user Gshiinobi. He is also happy about the new buffs for the extracts. The only downside for him is the unchanged, somewhat cumbersome controls.
Other users on this post also regret that the developers do not want to change anything about the controls at the moment. Great_White_Samurai jokingly asks, “But how many extra fingers do I have to grow?” Cyclone_96 says: “That’s nice, but it’s unfortunate that they insist on keeping the controls so clunky.”
In addition to the Insect Glaive, the Lance, Morph Ax and Sword & Shield also received their own segments in the community update. In total there are 14 different weapon types that you can choose between. You can get an overview of all the weapons in Monster Hunter Wilds here.
