The aforementioned situation occurred in the third period when Djurgården’s Arvid Costmar applied high pressure in Mora’s zone.
The forward fought with the home team’s Max Martin and tangled with Mora goalkeeper Jani Lampinen from behind.
The Finnish goalkeeper fell and wanted a slew foot dismissal from the referee, but to no avail.
Anger in the Mora camp
While Lampinen took time to get ready again, Djurgården won the puck and got into a transition.
Trissan to 17-year-old Anton Frondell who put 3-1 behind a Lampinen who had just returned to his own goal.
The goal was followed by great anger in the Mora camp, but it stood.
“Can’t stay still”
TV4’s hockey expert Fredrik Söderström says that it could very well have been an expulsion, but is still critical of Lampinen’s actions.
– Costmar tries to pass and he will claim that he is crowded, while Mora wants that for a expulsion, but regardless of that, Lampinen cannot lie there and feel sorry for himself, he says.
– He gets frustrated and pissed off and wants something with him and the game turns and the goal comes.
“Lies outside the target – difficult”
Djurgården won the match 3–1.
– My goalkeeper is outside the goal and they score on a turn of the game, and then it becomes difficult, says Mora’s head coach Daniel Hermansson, who calls the situation at the 3-1 goal a “direct match-decider”.
The victory was Djurgården’s sixth in a row:
– We have good momentum and want to continue with it. I love our group. We flap well and work hard. It’s a brotherhood, says Jonny Tychonik, who scored the 1-1 goal.
