“Can’t fire me again”

Sometimes it seems as if Kevin Costner is the only person in Hollywood who cares about Well-being of the Western For four seasons, he led Yellowstone, one of the most successful TV series of the 21st century, before turning his attention to the cinematic adaptation of his multi-part Western saga Horizon.

However, Costner is not the only actor to have appeared in a major Western series in recent years. Supernatural veteran Jared Padalecki also had a hot iron in the fire: Walker. The remake of the cult hit Walker, Texas Ranger launched successfully on The CW in 2021 – and was canceled after four seasons.

At the end of May, we reported on the abrupt end of the Western reboot. The US broadcaster The CW has canceled its Complete strategy revised and in doing so, he took tough action, especially with his series. In a new interview with Variety, Padalecki is extremely critical of this strategy.

Strictly speaking, he doesn’t recognize the transmitter:

I feel like The CW, which I was at last year, not The CW iswhere I [dem ehemaligen Vorsitzenden und CEO] Mark Pedowitz was there for almost 20 years.

The CW has completely transformed itself:

They are in the process of revamping the network so that it is no longer really a television network. Now it is: ‘Here is something that is fun for an hour and that you will see againbut hopefully you’ll watch it. And it’s cheap!’

Further cooperation is apparently out of the question:

I hate to say this, but I’m just being honest. I mean, fuck it. They can’t fire me again. I’m just being brutally honest. To me, it feels like they’re looking for really simple, cheap content Western series: In Germany, only the first two seasons of the Yellowstone alternative Walker have arrived

The very last episode of Walker aired on The CW on June 26, 2024. This brings the mix of classic Western elements and a modern action crime drama to four seasons with total of 69 episodesIn Germany you can watch the first two seasons on RTL+ via streaming subscription.

These seasons are also available for purchase on Amazon and Apple. The remaining seasons have not yet been released in this country.
