CANNES FESTIVAL 2024. We finally know the list of films, directors and stars who will be present on the Croisette this year. We take stock of the official 2024 selection of the Cannes Film Festival.

Final stretch before the start of the next Cannes Film Festival. The 77th edition of the event is being prepared behind the scenes. This Thursday, April 11, the list of films in competition was finally announced with a crowd expected for movie buffs: this Tuesday, May 14, Quentin Dupieux will open the festival with his latest film, The Second Act, with Louis Garrel, Léa Seydoux, Vincent Lindon and Raphaël Quenard. Around twenty films are in competition at Cannes in 2024, out of some 2000 feature films viewed. This edition will notably mark the great return of a giant, Francis Ford Coppola, for Megalopolis, who will share the red carpet with David Cronenberg, Yorgos Lanthimos, Jia Zhangke among others. Traditionally, the event is held in the last half of May, a period favored by the organizers. The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to begin on Tuesday May 14 and end with the closing ceremony and the awards ceremony on Saturday May 25, 2024.

How to register and obtain accreditations for the Cannes Film Festival?

If it is the stars who make the news at the Cannes Film Festival, it is possible for everyone to participate in the Cannes Festival… under certain conditions. In fact, access to the event is primarily reserved for cinema professionals and journalists who must be accredited.   • The “Three Days at Cannes” accreditation allows film buffs aged 18 to 28 to participate in the event for three days, and to discover films from the official selection and a dedicated program. The jury for the next Cannes Film Festival is not yet known. However, we know that Greta Gerwig, director of barbie And The Daughters of Doctor Marchwas chosen as president of the 2024 jury.
