A month before the launch of the event, which takes place on the Croisette from May 16 to 27, the list of films in competition is unveiled this Thursday. A press conference will lift the veil on the official competition at 11 a.m. It is possible to follow it in streaming and live on the official site of the festival, but also on its Youtube, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages.
We already know that Jeanne du Barrya film by Maïwenn with Johnny Depp in the cast, will be presented at the opening of the Cannes Film Festival 2023 on May 16, the day of its release in French cinemas. Indiana Jones 5: The Dial of Destiny will also premiere and out of competition on May 18, with the Cannes Film Festival also announcing a planned tribute to Harrison Ford for his lifetime achievement. Finally, Martin Scorsese’s next film, Killers of the Flower Moon, will premiere on May 20, including features from Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

Ruben Östlund has been chosen as president of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
