On this last Sunday of October, we conclude our series dedicated to brands and associations committed to the fight against breast cancer. Soeurs d’encre, created in 2017, is an association specializing in tattooing on scars, particularly post-breast cancer, and Phu Phi, an artist and restorative tattoo artist.

Phu Phui, artist and repairing tattoo artist is part of this association of tattoo artists committed and trained in partnership with the medical community. Soeurs d’encre informs, supports and connects with tattoo artists in order to practice a restorative tattoo for women affected by cancer.

There are no boundaries between what I do for tattooing and my personal life.

Phu Phi, artist and restorative tattooist, member of the Ink Sisters association.

“I will always try to feed myself from what I will see on social networks, in the street, from what other artists are doing. I like trying to do different things, so the creation is always there. »

Phu Phi started out a little far from the world of art and tattooing. She studied computer engineering. For several years, she worked in the field of IT project management for large companies. During her many excursions, she transcribed through painting her emotions, encounters, discoveries, sensations in her travel diaries.

One day, the tattoo crosses his path. She is embarking on a career change. Since 2019, she has been a member of the ink sisters association. Phu Phi uses what she can do to help women reclaim their bodies, their image after cancer.

If it’s a reconstruction, it’s no longer their original skin, if there was radiotherapy either, so most of the time it’s an insensitive area, it’s hardly painful for them . »

Commitment, empathy and fine graphic stylePhu Phi puts at the service of various artistic projects during his meetings with women who have suffered from breast cancer.

“Making a tattoo is responding to a request. Challenge yourself on a proposal that highlights this part of the body and that integrates the different elements that the person wishes to see. Elements that have meaning in relation to a test of life. Generally when I tattoo and the person tells me: ‘It’s exactly what I wanted, or it’s even better than I imagined.’ I’m still very happy, but in the context of the preparatory tattoo for these women, there is a new deal, it can completely change their lives. »
