What is RoseApp, the application for teaming up with loved ones during cancer?
According to Rose Up, “99% of people affected by cancer believe that support from loved ones is essential“But paradoxically, communication between the sick person and their loved ones is also difficult.
“The idea for this application comes from the fact that communication between loved ones and the sick person is not always easy” confirms Quitterie Brézillon, communications director at Rose Up. “It takes a lot of energy and she doesn’t always know where to turn. Result: those very close to us are over-sought, while others do not always know how to offer help.
An app to communicate in a simple and fluid way
With RoseApp, the sick person can communicate easily with their circle of loved ones. “She can create different circles, for example “friends”, “colleagues“or “family” and disseminate the information she wants with all the members of the circle” further details Quitterie Brézillon.
Thus, the sick person can inform of future appointments, request services (go shopping or pick up the children from school, for example) and loved ones can respond to the request. Conversely, they can also offer to accompany you to a medical appointment or a walk, for example.
“We are pragmatic at RoseUp, we work on unique programs and useful devices for women affected by all types of cancer whom we support on a daily basis. This RoseApp application, which we have just launched, will make it possible to better surround and pamper the sick person even more, without intrusion, with tact and gentleness. They need it so much!” underlines Céline Dupré, the president of RoseUp.
The patient keeps his hand on his application
“In reality, the application wants to streamline communication between the sick person and their loved ones, it is more complete than simple Whatsapp groups” assures the communications director. On RoseApp, the sick person keeps control of their exchanges. “She invites the people she wants to join her circle(s), she can block messages and notifications, set her mood for the day… This last point is important, because if loved ones don’t have any news, they can worry: there, the sick person indicates that they are less well, after a session of chemotherapy for example and loved ones are reassured, without needing to disturb them.” The application has been available since yesterday on the App Store and Google Play. “Already 300 people have created their account in 24 hours!” concludes Quitterie Brézillon.
