SJ released information on Friday that several departures with the express train X2000 during the weekend will be cancelled. How many departures are involved – or how many travelers are affected – has not yet been determined.
– It is work that we are working hard on right now to determine and map which departures apply. We get the information out as quickly as we can, says Marcus Fleetwood, press communicator at SJ.
The trains will now undergo an inspection as an extra safety measure after an X2000 train on its way from Stockholm to Gothenburg suffered a wheel damage during the journey on Thursday evening.
– We apologize to the travelers who are affected by this, but safety is always our highest priority. The inspection applies to the trains that have the same pair of wheels as the train set that was damaged yesterday, other trains are running as planned, writes SJ on social media.
Exactly how many departures are canceled over the weekend – or which ones, is still unclear.
– We urge everyone to stay updated via our website and app where traffic information is posted. We have not determined at the moment how many departures are affected, says Marcus Fleetwood.
