The project was named “Fortnite World Explorers” by its developer Epic Games and was canceled after a short time. Epic Games integrated this game into the mobile game Battle Breakers, which was closed in 2017.

Game archivist MrTalida shared his latest discoveries with images and details in an X (formerly Twitter) post. According to the source, Fortnite World Explorers featured a tile-based combat system. The game featured a house-based mechanic that allowed the player to build a squad of heroes and slowly improve their control over the map.

Continuing the thread, MrTalida expressed his assumptions that Fortnite World Explorers was later turned into a JRPG fantasy called “Endless World”. Then another X/Twitter account Fortnite STW News joined the chat. He suggested that Endless Worlds would undergo a further transformation, eventually becoming the now-shuttered Battle Breakers (a mobile game that shut down in 2017).

Summarizing the information gathered, MrTalida claimed that Battle Breakers is really the canceled Fortnite World Explorers.
