Canal is celebrating its 40th anniversary with several gifts Thus

Canal+ is celebrating its 40th anniversary with several gifts. Thus, the group’s various channels are offered for one month, and it is possible to subscribe to a very comprehensive special offer for only 40 euros per month.

On November 4, Canal+ celebrated its 40th anniversary! Needless to say, it’s worth celebrating! For the occasion, the French television channel decided to spoil users of its platform with several surprise announcements. The least we can say is that she pulled out all the stops! So, it decided to offer, free of charge, the different versions of its channels for a month. It also takes the opportunity to launch a special offer at 40 euros per month, including “all Canal+ offers combined into one with four simultaneous users via the Canal+ application”she announces in her online store. A joyful celebration, however, marred by an officially recorded divorce with Disney.

Canal+: free channels galore

From November 4 to December 2, all subscribers of the television group can enjoy all Canal+ channels for free. This includes Canal+ Grand Écran, Canal+ Cinéma(s), Canal+ Sport, Canal+ Premiere League, Canal+ Séries, Canal+ Foot, the Ciné+ channels (OCS, Émotion, Frisson, Family, Classic, Festival, etc.) and even the beIN channels. In short, there is something for everyone, whether for movie buffs, sports fans and even children! The only two conditions to take advantage of this offer are to be a Canal+ subscriber – even to the basic plan – and to have a myCanal account.

Free is also joining the festivities by enriching the TV offering of certain subscribers with free, no-obligation access to some 40 channels! These are the channels of the Famille by Canal bouquet, which includes Disney Channel, M6 Music, Planète+, Télétoon, Ushuaïa TV, TIJI, Novelas TV, National Geographic and POLAR+. Freebox Pop, Revolution Light, mini 4K and Crystal subscribers can benefit from it. Until now, they had to pay 4.99 euros per month to access it. They can now subscribe for free, without obligation and without time limit. Note that Free also offers access to myCanal in order to access its programs live and in replay via any of its devices.

Canal+: a special subscription for 40th birthdays

But Canal+ doesn’t stop there! On the occasion of its anniversary, the encrypted channel released a special offer called “La Totale”, which brings together all of its offers for only 40 euros per month, with 24 months of commitment. It can accommodate up to four users simultaneously – with the exception of Netflix and Disney+, which are limited to two. Available until November 27, this offer is accessible on numerous media such as Free, Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR boxes but also smartphones, tablets and computers, Smart TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV stick, consoles , Chromecast, AirPlay.

This special subscription gives access to all Canal+ channels and services, including Canal+ Box Office, Cinema(s), Grand Écran, Séries, Docs, Kids, Sport, Football, Sport 360, Golf+, and the 18 Live channels, but also to multiple third-party platforms, namely Apple TV+, Max Standard, Paramount+ Standard, Ciné+ OCS, Netflix Standard, Insomnia, CANAL+ Séries and beIN Sports. Also included is Disney+ Standard with advertising, but only until December 31, 2024, after which you will have to checkout to be able to maintain access to this platform.

Goodbye Mickey: Disney+ and seven channels leave Canal+

Because yes, we strongly suspected it, but Canal+ signs the end of Disney+ packages from January 2025. In 2019, the encrypted channel struck a big blow by announcing an exclusive distribution agreement for the Disney platform, which would give it made it possible to include Disney+ in its offers, to obtain priority broadcasting on its films only six months after their theatrical release and to distribute the Disney Channel, Disney Junior, National Geographic, National Geographic Wild, Voyage and Fox Play channels.

But, unfortunately, the contract linking the big-eared firm and the encrypted channel will not be renewed after December 2024, as officially announced by Disney to AFP on November 4. It will therefore no longer be possible to access Disney+ or the big-eared firm’s television channels directly via Canal+ from next January. For new releases, however, you will have to wait 17 months after their theatrical release to find them on Mickey’s SVOD, by virtue of the media chronology, which is much more favorable to Canal+. We will see if going it alone will benefit the famous mouse firm or not!
