[EN VIDÉO] Sunburn: how to avoid and treat it
Sunburn is common after exposure without protection. But what is this phenomenon and how to treat it?

Until the beginning of the XXe century, it was de rigueur to show light skin, a phenomenon that escapes the trend today. From now on, tanning is anticipated! It is a natural process that occurs when the skin is subjected to UV rays. Cells called melanocytes will secrete melanin which will naturally color the epidermis. Melanin in capsules or melanin-activating foods, several complementary solutions exist to benefit from golden skin!

What types of natural products can accelerate tanning?

Apart from self-tanning products, it is indeed possible to tan faster and above all naturally. After spending several months being protected by the layers of clothing and, now uncovered, the skin is fragile. It is therefore not advisable to expose it to the sun without taking certain precautions. It is therefore necessary to provide the body with a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, especially those containing beta carotene such as carrots, sweet potatoes, mangoes or melons. Beta-carotene and vitamin C will initiate the development of melanin. Foods containing lycopene, a natural red pigment found in tomatoes, watermelons or papayas, are also to be preferred. It would be an effective antioxidant to protect the skin from harmful UV rays.

Is it important to prepare your skin before exposing it?

In addition to adopting a favorable diet aimed at secreting melanin, the skin must be maintained. The reason ? On neglected skin, the tan will not be optimal. It is advisable to exfoliate it about once a week with a brown sugar or coffee grounds scrub to remove dead skin. This operation will allow the epidermis to absorb the moisturizer more effectively to avoid drying out because skin subjected to the sun dries out more quickly.

Taking food supplements is also a solution to prepare the skin before tanning sessions. With a composition generally comprising beta-carotene, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, they give a boost to promote tanning. But that’s not all, the activation of the tan can be generated by taking melanin in the form of food supplements which will not only support the tan but also play a protective role for the epidermis.

How to choose the right melanin?

Many melanin-based food supplements exist on the market as a single ingredient or in combination with other active ingredients. Several criteria must be taken into account to ensure an effective product that will be fully assimilated by the body. Indeed, melanin in its natural form is a macromolecule, difficult to assimilate. It is preferable to opt for hydrolyzed peptides offering optimal bioavailability.

Dynveo has selected a natural hydrolyzed peptide melanin that has been the subject of 14 clinical studies. This increases the intensity of the tan by 249% and the pigmentation of the skin by more than 200%. Among the criteria to be taken into account, the extraction technique is very important. As a rule, laboratories use acid to dissolve the wool, which deteriorates the quality of the product. ” We have chosen a melanin from wool with a gentle extraction method that guarantees the quality, purity and bioavailability of the product explains Maëlys Garnier, Marketing Manager of the nutraceuticals laboratory.

It is therefore better to favor a gentle production method and do not hesitate to research the extraction techniques as well as the dosages, the composition but also the effectiveness when choosing your product.
