Charlotte Baris: Throughout France, tractors blocking the roads, bales of hay on fire, manure dumped in front of the prefectures… These images do not date from last January but from a few days ago. The farmers have started Act II of their mobilization. And for good reason, less than a year after huge demonstrations, the anger has not subsided.

The demands are the same: fairer pay, lower standards and opposition to free trade treaties, notably Mercosur. Except that new, less known issues have been added to the discontent of the countryside…
