The figures for French educational levels are cruel. The latest Pisa ranking, established every year by the OECD on 38 countries, places France 26th in mathematics, 27th in reading comprehension and 25th in sciences. Worrying scores which are unlikely to improve in the short term. The teaching staff is doing what they can, but they are overwhelmed and urgently need a technological boost.

Automated educational support systems have been talked about for a long time. But putting assessment software into practice faces several problems: it is difficult to include the empathy needed in teaching and it is just as complicated to develop a system that adapts to the wide variety of levels and materials.

Technology has made great strides in addressing these questions. And companies are flourishing in this new sector called EdTech for education technologies. EvidenceB is one of the most interesting in the sector. It was created in 2017 by Thierry de Vulpillières, former head of educational partnerships at Microsoft who now works with National Education and several foreign countries.

In this episode of Control F, he explains to us what tech can bring to students. How, for example, it can assess learners on a large scale and accurately.
