IN WHICH SITUATIONS PREGNANCY SHOULD NOT FAST?
Fasting is not recommended for pregnant women in some risky situations. These; It is not recommended for those who have gestational diabetes, high blood pressure during pregnancy, decrease in the baby’s water, risk of bleeding, developmental delay, or who have a risk of premature birth.
NO FASTING WITHOUT SAHURAN
Pregnant women who are going to fast must have sahur. They need to be fed heavy with protein and fiber so that their sugar does not drop during the day.
It is recommended to consume eggs, walnuts, almonds, low salt cheese, cheddar cheese and even a glass of milk in sahur.
Very sugary, salty and oily foods and fried foods should be avoided.
Low-fat, low-salt foods should be preferred in sahur and should not be slept immediately after eating.
3 LITERS OF WATER BETWEEN IFTAR AND SAHUR
Water is important for the continuation of pregnancy. Pregnant women need to consume 3 liters of water per day. They should also consume this between iftar and sahur so that the baby’s water does not decrease. In case of low fluid intake due to fasting, if the baby’s water decreases, the risk of premature birth may occur.
Pregnant women should consult their doctor immediately in any case. If the baby movements are decreasing, if the baby does not move at least 10 times a day, they should immediately consult their doctor.
