L leader Johan Pehrson is worried about what might happen in Malmö during Eurovision.

Left-wing leader Nooshi Dadgostar says Israel should have been barred from the competition.

– It was supposed to be a public celebration and now it’s just fear, she says.

Next week, Eurovision takes place in Malmö, but the festivities have already started.

Ahead of Sunday’s party leader debate in Agenda in SVT, several party leaders express concern about the competition.

The reason is Israel’s participation and that several protests and demonstrations are expected.

– I am worried that it could become unpleasant, I was in Sveaparken in my hometown in Örebro during a recent Easter and then there was a riot, says Liberal party leader Johan Pehrson to TT.

Do you understand those who demonstrate for Palestine during Eurovision?

– I understand everyone who demonstrates peacefully and with a strong message. But not for those who use violence.

And you think it can happen in Malmö?

– The risk exists, the police are prepared.

Left Party party leader Nooshi Dadgostar has previously said that Israel should have been barred from the competition.

– It is very unfortunate. It would be a people’s party, now it will be only security and fear. If they had only done what we said, and marked against what is not normal, namely that there is a mass murder by one of the participants at the festival, then they would not have had to have it like this, she says.
