Can an “old” man still talk about sex?

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

You should always stop when it’s most beautiful. Or, as in the case of jerks.: most uncomfortable. The will run from February 2, 2023 fifth and final season of the cult series at Joyn, in which Christian Ulmen and Fahri Yardim play foreign shame versions of themselves – and over the years have provided some of the nastiest and funniest moments in recent German television history.

In an interview with Moviepilot, the comedy dream team reveals which humor criticism annoys them, under what circumstances one as Man over 40 still compulsively talks about sex may and whether Fahri Yardim for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 still returns as Raccoon Rocket.

Jerks after 5 seasons: Why the funniest German series has to end “banal”.

jerks – S5 Trailer (German) HD

Moviepilot: Was it difficult to find a suitable ending for this series?

Christian Ulmen: If we were a thriller, that would certainly be a challenge. At jerks. it’s not about him sophisticated plot with a blatant twist at the end. In the last season we’re doing what we’ve done in all previous seasons: We’re talking about failure. In 10 episodes. We end where David Letterman left off: with a very ordinary episode. That’s why we don’t say “season finale” to it, but “for the last time”.

Fahri Yardim: Ending trite is probably the most fitting thing jerks. can happen. Basically, with us, banality was always what was with others, the big fireworks. We were always small and [die Serie] only became big because we stayed true to the little one. In the end, a dull feeling remains. The world keeps turning.

Christian Ulmen: … just not constantly around jerks.

In episode 3, in a discussion between children, you take up a topic that jerks you and. was repeatedly assumed: Pipi-Kacka humor. Did you also address that because the allegations äannoy?

Christian Ulmen: No, that never annoyed me. [Pause] Yes, sometimes yes. It depends who it’s from. But that’s why we didn’t take it up in the episode. I just liked the idea that even little Fahri would say: “I love everything that has to do with pee and poop, I think it’s funny!”

Fahri Yardim: Besides that jerks. is simply 95 percent no pee-poo humor, I find it an impertinence compared to pee-poo humor. Actually, I’m outraged that we have so little pee and poop humor!

Christian Ulmen: Most of those who describe jerks with this humor category don’t know the definition: a characteristic of pee poop humor is the faeces as punch line. The joke has to end with pee or poop. For example: “Why do East Frisians always take ketchup to the toilet? So that the sausage tastes better!” This is classic pee poop humor. The inclined recipient laughs at a turd, whose consumption is suggested here. At jerks. in the very-very-rarest cases, bodily discharge or some other aspect of so-called “downstairs issues” is the joke.

We set our stories in the world of shame, tell what people don’t like to talk about, and these are logically sexual or gastroenterological or sociophobic connotations. But the punchlines are never a penis or feces. For example: Christian is in bed with diarrhea, he didn’t make it to the toilet in time. But that’s not the point, it’s a starting point for Fahri, who exploits Christian’s helplessness to discredit him in front of his new friends out of jealousy. We laugh at Fahri’s depravity, not at Christian’s bowel movements.

Christian Ulmen and Fahri Yardim have very different opinions about sexuality in the midst of “uptight oppressive fantasies”.

Do you have a theory as to why so many find it funny to watch people do horrible or inappropriate things?

Fahri Yardim: I think because things are like that are commonplace in their dreadfulness. It is liberating when you realize that what is all too human also has abysses and that cowardice and corruption and being alienated and petty racism and selfishness are only human. This relieves us of constantly having to do this feat of civilization, of having to be cultivated.

Christian Ulmen: The discomfort of jerks. arises because, as a spectator, one is confronted with one’s own abysses. With your own racism, your own cowardice, your own failure. You watch yourself when you jerks. looks.

Do you have jerks in 5 seasons. Learned things about yourself that you may not have been aware of before?

Fahri Yardim: I’ve made my peace with the fact that I many pretty, sexual fantasies have. I’ve always thought that was a rare portion to jerk. trying hard to bring it out, but actually it is constantly present. It’s good to have freed him from the inner corner of the bad conscience. Sexuality — despite seeming so liberated — is still often a tense field. This is precisely why open communication can be a good icebreaker. I like to say about myself, one To have the ability to talk about sexual things, which would sound strange to many others. There’s something innocent about me.

This is how the jerks journey of Christian Ulmen and Fahri Yardim began:

Jerks – S01 Trailer (German) HD

Christian Ulmen: I can sense that you think so. A friend I’ve known since we were 19 once said to me: “Christian, you are over 40 now. You have a gray beard. You are old. If you’re talking about sex now, you’re an old gray manwho talks about sex. That seems needy. Let that go.”

Fahri Yardim: What a bizarre claim! The youthful time, the student time, should still be filled with life and hedonism, and everything that comes after that should then only be seriousness and nest building. With a coffee in your hand, you can look at your life’s work peacefully and unsubscribed. Sexuality is an absolute elixir of life, always, even in old age. If you free them from the often uptight, patriarchal fantasies of oppression.

After a surprise in the Marvel trailer: Fahri Yardim does not yet know whether he will be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Together to the end: Fahri Yardim and Christian Ulmen

Fahri, you’ve voiced Rocket, the Guardians of the Galaxy raccoon, in several films. Was that interesting for you because it’s so far away from what you usually do?

Fahri Yardim: Indeed. Promi-Synchron actually has a bad image among speakers because very few are booked because of their talent, but because of their charisma and reach. In essence, they are a marketing tool and, speaking-wise, a compromise. Fortunately, with this dirty voice, I fit this raccoon quite well and I also got a lot of encouragement from speakers. Because the new trailer was voiced by someone else, many are rumoring that I’m out of there. I don’t know myself yet!

Christian Ulmen: Fahri, did you know that I was in the movie and didn’t know that you voice the raccoon? I thought to myself: That sounds like Fahri Yardim, that little animal! have you then googled in the middle of the cinema. you sound so beautiful
