A Bothwell summer camp has announced it will be reopening its facilities for its overnight program for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.
Camp Vincent, run by St. Vincent de Paul in Chatham-Kent, will have sessions from July 10 to Aug. 26. The sessions run from Sunday registration to Friday afternoon pickup.
“The camp welcomes all children from all walks of life, regardless of social, financial or faith backgrounds,” a news release said. “This year we request that all children and staff be COVID-19 fully vaccinated.”
The camp will be open for children aged six to 15, with a leader-in-training program for campers aged 14 to 16. As well, there will be employment opportunities for university students and older staff, the release said.
A session shorter will be held Aug. 2-5 for the youngest campers.
Camp Vincent has 10 bunks in each of the eight cabins on the grounds. All of the cabins have a flushable toilet and sink. There is also a building with showers, flush toilets, picnic tables inside and outside the dining halls and nature lessons.
The camp is located approximately 10 kilometers east of Thamesville at 15142 Longwoods Rd. The camp can be reached by phone at 519-354-1885 or email at [email protected].
Camp Vincent may also be open to school field trips in June. The release said to contact the camp for more information in May.
