While she is currently expecting a baby boy, Camille Cerf found herself at the heart of criticism for having basked under the sun of Marrakech. Should we forbid sunbathing during pregnancy? Can they endanger baby? The answer of Dr. Odile Bagot, gynecologist.
It all started with a simple photo on Instagram. Last Saturday, the former miss shared a photo of her in Morocco, lazing on a deckchair. If, on paper, the photo may seem innocuous, the reactions of Internet users were not long in coming: they accuse him of putting his baby in danger.
The comments of Internet users have multiplied
If the holidays had started well for Camille Cerf, the good atmosphere was short-lived.
While the host shared a photo of her, pregnant, in a bathing suit – lounging by the pool – the remarks flared up in her private messages.
“Not very good the sun for baby“, “Beware the sun with pregnancy, first for your skin believe me it does damage and in addition it increases the temperature of the baby and it is not good“; “Isn’t it bad for the baby to get too much sun?“, we wrote to him.
Camille Cerf, determined to live her pregnancy as she sees fit, responded tit for tat to Internet users and does not seem to want to deprive herself of this little pleasure of the holidays.
Sun and pregnancy: good or bad idea?
According to Dr. Odile Bagot, the fetus does not fear much in the event of sunbathing.
“Even if the sensation of heat outside or on the skin is significant, the central temperature regulation system will ensure that the baby will remain at a constant temperature. There is therefore no risk in this level there. The only precaution? Make sure you don’t get dehydrated, because that can drop your blood pressure.”
As for the risks incurred by the future mother, they are more numerous.
“She must protect herself from the sun by staying in the shade, putting on a hat and applying sunscreen. Indeed, the sun will raise melanin and will aggravate all the problems of stains, such as the pregnancy mask “, confides the expert, who also recommends choosing “a sunscreen without endocrine disruptors, harmful for the baby”.
