Camilla Richardsson plans to move to the marathon at some point, but before that she wants to test her capacity in the 10,000 and 5,000 meter track races.

Injured Camilla Richardsson is not going to invest in hurdles this summer, but will focus on track running, especially the 10,000 and 5,000 meter races.

Richardsson has not been able to practice his obstacle technique due to injuries, and that technique has been his biggest problem.

– At some point, I’m going to marathon and off the track. Before that, I want to see where I have a capacity of 10,000 meters, for example.

Richardsson says he has never properly tested his skills on long track journeys, even though his qualities are suitable for the journey.

Richardsson’s main goal is to be able to compete throughout the race season. He hopes to compete in the European Championship finals in both the 10,000 and 5,000 meters. Getting to the World Cup would be a big bonus for him.

In the European Championships, the finals will be run directly on both trips, but the European Championship limit, for example, by ten tonnes, will be tougher than before: 32.20.

– It’s a minute harder than usual. If it breaks, then we are talking about pretty hard times. And there is not a long way from the European Championship limit to the World Championship limit.

Richardsson last ran 10,000 meters in 2019 and his record is 32.39.01 from 2018.

At 5,000 meters, the EM limit is 15.25. Richardsson’s record of 15.37.02 is from 2019.

Richardsson ran his record in the half marathon last fall and made his marathon debut in Valencia in December. He broke the European Championship limit on time at 2.30.45. Richardsson wants to bet on the marathon later.

– I think for the 2024 Olympic Games, a marathon. But this year and next I will be investing in track running. I’m not so young anymore, but I’m also not so old that I could still invest in a track run, the 28-year-old runner told Sporten.
