“Camfranglais”, a slang spoken mainly by young Cameroonians, is increasingly making its way into the world of art. This mode of expression, born in the early 1980s within the student community of Yaoundé, is very popular today. Whether in the web series or music industry, the interest in what can be considered the “language of the street” represents for these new generations an alternative to the official languages of French and English.
