Halfvarsson’s success

The 33-year-old has started the season strongly with a fourth place as well as a fifth place in Ruka, and in the sprint in Beitostölen he really showed that his form holds up. Halfvarsson also finished third in the pursuit start in Ruka, but was washed later and was stripped of his third place.

– I hope I can keep this third place today. Nice to get on the podium, but I’m still not super happy – I would have liked more today. But if I can digest it a bit, I will probably be quite happy with a third place, says Halfvarsson to SVT Sport.

“Became a little confused”

The final became dramatic since the Norwegian Paul Golberg messed up on the first hill – something that also affected Calle Halfvarsson’s race.
– It got a bit confusing when Golberg fell right in front of me, I was also about to fall. I would have liked a slightly better position going into the last hill, because I really believed in victory today, he says.
