A year ago, Calle Halfvarsson hesitated about continuing.
Then everything turned around.
Now it is revealed how much he actually earned during the winter – and he really deserved every penny.
When Calle Halfvarsson had finished competing for the season last year, he was brutally honest with what he felt. The results weren’t there, the body mostly didn’t fit, and the income wasn’t what he had hoped for. Calle Halfvarsson went so far as to even consider giving up everything.
Thought about quitting
Calle Halfvarsson was then waiting to become a father for the first time, and he was honest that something was needed to get it all going.
– If you don’t perform, you don’t earn as much from this sport. It’s not the NHL or the Premier League you play in. If you want to earn well, you have to be among the best. If you start to be outside the top ten, then you have to start scratching, said the star.
Calle Halfvarsson finally decided to continue the investment – and he was absolutely right. This season he has constantly asserted himself against the very best, and he has performed better weekend after weekend than he has done in many years. And it also shows in the wallet after the winter. Halfvarsson was admittedly not close to the sums that Johannes Hösflot Kläbo brought in during the season, when the Norwegian brought in over four million kroner.

That’s how much he earned
It is the site langd.se that compiled the list of prize money in the World Cup during the season – and on the men’s side, Calle Halfvarsson, as the best Swede, ends up in eighth place. In total, there was over SEK 600,000 in pure prize money from all competitions in the World Cup. On the women’s side, Frida Karlsson was number one, with nearly two million kroner in prize money earned.
But add to that that there is also extra prize money and bonuses from the WC, as well as that all skaters earn money from various sponsorship contracts. After a few difficult years, we are so happy that Calle Halfvarsson is finally getting a dividend – talk about well-deserved.
