It was a fiasco for the Swedish ladies in the sprint.
But for the men it was a great success in Beitostölen.
Calle Halfvarsson put in a great effort and finished third.
The ski season continues when it was time for sprints in the Norwegian Beitostölen on Friday. The Swedish ladies did not impress in the qualifiers, and the trend continued. No Swedes made it to the final and Friday was thus a fiasco. For the men, however, it was more pleasant – and above all for Calle Halfvarsson.
Halfvarsson’s success
The Swede made a big impression before the final, where things went really fast in the track. In the semi-final he came third after the finish photo, but made it to the final in time since his semi-final was run at a furious pace.

Once in the final, the competition was fierce in the form of, among others, Norwegians Paul Golberg and French Lucas Chanavat
But Calle Halfvarsson showed that he is in great shape. The Swede took an early place in the lead – and was with him all the way into the race after a controlled sprint race.

Took podium place
However, Halfvarsson was a bit behind the field in the final stages of the race. But after a showdown in the sprint where the Swede finished strongly, it was a nice third place for the 33-year-old from Sågmyra. Won did Richard Jouve from France before the Italian Simone Mocellini.
