One who has really been charged for the World Cup in Trondheim for a long time is Calle Halfvarsson. The 35-year-old has hinted that the home World Cup in Falun in 2027 will be his last championship, but if he should have a chance to take an individual medal in the World Cup context, it is almost necessary that it is happening now. His body is not really what it once was.

During the season he has had problems with his back and he has been forced to stand over several competitions. The times he has driven he has mixed and given. Best it went in the team sprint in Cogne, when he came third together with Oskar Svensson.
– I do not have the results that I had wanted against this championship. After all, it is the World Cup in Trondheim that is the big goal this winter and if it goes well there I do not think you will laugh so much that things have gone bad before. Calle strikes back after the criticism
Before the World Cup, he was determined to take a medal. He was close to the five -mile in Planica two years ago – when William Poromaa squeezed it – which is why he thought it would be his turn this time.
– I want to go as well as possible. It’s March 4, at 10 classic, I hope to have my best shape throughout the season, he said in an interview with the Sports Bible a few months before the championship.
– I go for gold. That’s the gold you want. But it would be great fun with a medal, absolutely, he continued.

Despite injury concerns, he hopes and believes he can deliver in the World Cup. He strikes back after the criticism of him that he would fail because of his injuries or due to poorer form. He still thinks he can fight for the medals in Trondheim.
– I still have the same expectations and hopes of being able to perform the way I want. For the training I got good. I didn’t have these problems this summer. It has been a bit choppy during the season, but I still know that there are good trends. I have felt very strong, so the hope is that I will be able to go fast at the World Cup, he says.
Otherwise, the Swedish ski profile is excited to see and experience a championship in Norway.
– It will be an exciting World Cup, it will be big with a World Cup in Norway and Trondheim. There is a great interest there, especially when they have their home son Johannes Hösflot Kläbo. They also have Jan Thomas Jenssen Which is also a home son, he has shown good form here in recent years. So I think it will be a cool World Cup. I want to believe it anyway. It would be cool if there could be something similar as in Falun or Holmenkollen with type 30-40,000 in the audience, he has told the Sports Bible.
