Scump gives an emotional speech, thanking his visitors and the “crazy support” he’s relied on throughout his career.

Even with tears in his eyes, he makes his visitors laugh – that’s what Scump always did. He was not only the tough CoD professional, but also a charismatic guy.

Even if he is now a little afraid of his future, he is looking forward to the challenges ahead. In the future he would like to focus more on content, so the CoD community will remain.

What successes could Scump celebrate? The highlight was winning the 2017 CoD World Championship in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. He also won 31 major tournaments in the professional league of CoD and 2 gold medals at the X-Games in his career.

Along the way, Scump built a YouTube channel with over 2.6 million subscribers. Although his career away from the CoD league has often not been easy.

Why the resignation? Scump says it’s difficult for him to simultaneously produce content and play Call of Duty at the highest level. But content creation has always been something he has enjoyed doing.

However, he also feels a little left behind. Scump is 27 years old, making him one of the “seniors” in the Call of Duty: League. In the video, he tells his teammate Shotzzy (21) that he is simply not as fast as the new generation.

What are the reactions? It almost seems as if the entire CoD community is sending him farewell greetings. The tweet about his resignation was viewed more than 31 million times, has almost 11,000 comments and more than 230,000 likes (as of 01/18/23 / 4:40 p.m.).

Official greetings from CoD can be found in the comments – the official CoD account wrote on Twitter: “Forever the king”. The CoD studios Raven Software and Sledgehammer Games are also reporting.

Others thank Scump, such as the Warzone expert “JGOD”, who leaves a simple “thank you”. Content creator @JaredFPS writes: “You are the inspiration for a generation and beyond, my brother. Thank you for everything you’ve done for Call of Duty and for the fans.”

There are also tons of crown and goat emojis in the comments (GOAT = Greatest of al Time) from fans, rivals, friends and major content creators. Many are sad but also happy about the next step in the life of the ex-professional.

A fitting farewell to one of Call of Duty’s greatest pro careers. We at MeinMMO also wish Scump all the best for the future. What are your thoughts on retiring? Leave us a comment.
