Stay home », « be careful »… These are the watchwords of the California authorities. The winter storm that has affected the state since Friday, February 24 is one of the strongest in the past 100 years. From San Francisco to Los Angeles, heavy snowfalls were recorded. On Saturday, February 25, a blanket of white covered the Golden Gate Bridge and the giant letters “Hollywood” on Mount Lee.

The snow is accompanied by strong winds which have caused significant damage: uprooted trees and especially damaged power lines. More than 100,000 inhabitants are without electricity.

In San Diego and Los Angeles, blizzard warnings were issued. And the authorities fear that after the passage of the snow, heavy rains will cause flooding. On Saturday evening, many roads remained closed.

And if, at the present time, calls for caution are increasing, some are still delighted with these snowfalls, given that California has been facing extreme drought for several years.
