Caledon man faces charges after collision on Six Nations

Six Nations Police have charged a 32-year-old Caledon man following a collision Thursday night.

Police, fire, and EMS personnel responded at about 8:20 pm to a two-vehicle collision on Second Line of Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation. Both vehicles were heavily damaged.

Bystanders at the scene told officers that one of the drivers tried to flee on foot but was prevented from doing so by another bystander.

Officers noticed the male had injuries from the collision and was also exhibiting signs of impairment.

Following treatment for minor injuries at a local hospital the accused was held in custody and charged with impaired operation; alcohol per se offense 80 plus; fail to stop at accident; dangerous driving; operation while prohibited; and two counts of breach of probation.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing, and his vehicle impounded for 45 days.
