Emergency hospital
The emergency hospital is a stand-by hospital that can be operational within 30 minutes if necessary for the care of larger numbers of patients in the event of an emergency. It is built within the UMC Utrecht, including one hundred beds, twelve intensive care places, four isolation boxes and three operating rooms.
It is the 46th time that the calamity hospital in Utrecht is open. The last time was in 2019, after the tram attack in Utrecht that left four dead and six injured. A total of five people were then treated in the emergency hospital.
