Cafe Jan Primus has been consciously classical for 50 years

In January 1974 it was perhaps the first café above the rivers to start selling Belgian beers. After that, little changed about Jan Primus; the floral wallpaper is gone and the plants have gone out, but that’s it. “I think there is a lot of power in preserving what people like,” explains bartender Paulien Veneman.
