Cackling Cauldrons trick or treat event boils up fun at Oil Museum

OIL SPRINGS – An historic site here in this rural Lambton County community was transformed Saturday into a unique Halloween setting for youngsters and their families.

The Oil Museum of Canada in Oil Springs hosted a Cackling Cauldrons trick-or-treat event from 11 am to 3 pm Buckets of candy and activities were available at various locations throughout the facility.

Christina Sydorko, the museum’s educational program co-ordinator, estimated about 75 kids, many dressed in costumes, came through during the first hour and they were expecting about 300 in total. Sydorko thanked their sponsors, including Shell Canada, for paying for the candy and making the event free for participants.
