The Netherlands currently has five locations for pediatric heart surgery: Leiden, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Groningen and Rotterdam. Only the last two remain. The decision of Minister Kuipers of Health has led to a lot of criticism. Not only from patients and their parents, UMC Utrecht even threatens legal action.
