It was late in the evening on January 4 that 26-year-old C.Gambino was shot to death in a parking garage on Hising’s hill. The artist took home a Grammy for hip-hop of the year just a few weeks earlier and he had recently released a single. Two men were later arrested on probable cause on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder. Producer Oscar Chase is behind several of the artist’s songs, which have a million listens a month. Now he comments on the death on Instagram, which Göteborgs-Posten was the first to report. “Saying goodbye to someone who was so close to me hurts, very much, but we who knew you will always remember the joy and laughter. Our thoughts about you will live on and your melodies will forever echo across the country,” he writes and ends with “Fly high, C”.
