Do you feel like your cell phone is slow? Is it endless to display pages or switch from one feature to another? Here are some simple tips to make it much faster.

The smartphone has become the essential tool in our daily life. In France, we use it on average 3.5 hours per day. To call of course, but also to find our way, send messages, surf the internet, consult our social networks or even look for a restaurant address. And we want it to go quickly! No time to waste with a slow moving machine. However, slowdowns and freezes remain frequent, regardless of the type of device.

So, how to do it? On Android, you need to enable Developer Options. Open Android settings and go to the “About phone” menu. While searching, you will discover a line titled “Build number”. Click on it seven times (not one more, not one less!) then enter your device’s unlock code to validate. A confirmation message states that “you are now a developer.” After this first step, and to make your phone faster, you will need to adjust the animation speeds.

Go to System, in the settings list and locate the “animation” section. There are three settings: Window animation scale, Transition animation scale and Animation duration scale. Click on each of these settings and
change the scale from 1x (default) to 0.5x. The lower the number, the faster the animation. You can also set the value to “off” if you don’t want any animation.

There are also other things to put in place to restore your smartphone to its initial speed. It is indeed recommended to empty caches regularly, not to keep too many windows open when you are on the internet, to check your storage space and free up space if necessary. Also remember to regularly turn off your phone, update your operating system and applications, uninstall unnecessary applications (there are certainly more than you think!) and install an antivirus. Finally, when nothing works, it may help to reset the phone (after backing up all your numbers and photos).
